The benefits of the Zigbee offer are several:
Zigbee 3.0 is the only complete IoT solution, from mesh network to the universal language, that allows smart objects to work together:
Zigbee is an industry association formed to provide standards that enable devices to communicate interoperably using wireless technology that is secure, reliable and suited to the needs of the home environment. Zigbee is recognized and used around the world.
Features:
• Radio Frequency Open Protocol • 2.4 Ghz: universal frequency used world wide • Mesh Network Radio: every powered device act as a repeater • Self-healing: no single point of failure; if a device fails, the signal reroutes itself
No, not in the immediate future.
The system will continue working for a while if there are Routers in the system (AC devices).
Warning: Should be considered as a temporary situation.
Any wired Somfy Zigbee motor/device is part of the mesh, therefore acts as a repeater.
Wired motors are part of mesh, extends range node to node repeaters:
Up to 6 remotes can be bound to a Zigbee motor. Recommended 3 in order to ease the group management.
If you need more than 3 we do recommend to use TaHoma switch solution.
A remote can control all the Zigbee motors of the room. Motors are adressed through a group number, they are all synchronized.
Any device with Zigbee 3.0 certification must be accepted in the Zigbee network as a router but is does not guarantee that this device is managed by the TaHoma App.
To be compatible, the device needs to have the same Cluster (e.g. Window Convering for motors).
Note: Even with the same Cluster, the compatibility is not guarantee because of some differences in the implementation (attributes).
Conditions that the Zigbee device must meet to introduce this product in our Somfy offer:
Note: It only guarantees the compatibility with the revision of the device tested. Any upgrade, modification applied on the device by the vendor could break the compatibility.
The TaHoma switch solution has been validated with 50 end devices (Max 40 Sleepy End Devices and 10 Routers). This number depends on the environment (Radio traffic) and device types (routers or Sleepy End Devices).
Routers are responsible for routing traffic between different nodes. They are also responsible for receiving and storing messages intended to an other router or end devices. Routers may not sleep. As such, routers are not a suitable choice for battery operated devices.
Example of routers: Smart plug, main-powered motor, ...
A router can be connected with 6 Wirefree devices maximum (router or end device). You must respect this limitation by adding additional routers every 6 Sleepy End Devices to preserve the perfomances of the system.
It is possible to have consecutive routers ("Hops") to relay signal between two Zigbee Wirefree devices. We do recommend a maximum of 6 consecutive routers.

Amy sun protect io installed in a house equipped with air-conditioning:
E.g.: Program Amy sun protect io temperature at 25°C and your air-conditioning temperature above 25°C like 26°C.
Only 1 channel wall-switches have a temperature sensor.
2 & 4-channels wall switches don’t embed temperature sensor.
Amy is for an indoor use only and can measure a temperature between 0°C and 48°C.
Yes, the temperature sensor feedback activation impact the autonomy and that is why the sensor is not activated by default (except fot Amy sun protect io controls).
But Somfy guarantee 5 years of autonomy with 4 orders per day.
Due to safety standard evolution (IEC 62368-1), legislation is stricter for battery access conditions and require the usage of a tool or two timely separated motions to access the battery.
To avoid the need of a tool, choice has been done on Amy to use the two timely separated operations:
1st operation:
2nd operation:
To make the battery insertion easier at step 5, Insert it first on the + contact side to avoid damaging it:
Then put the battery cover in place:
By adding your Amy® io to TaHoma, you will be able to:

Combined with the TaHoma switch, your roller shutters maximize thermal comfort and improve energy efficiency all year round.
With the thermal comfort pre-set scene, you can program your shutters to respond to outdoor conditions.
In the summer, solar protections automatically close as soon as the temperature rises, keeping your house 4 to 7°C cooler during heat peaks*. This helps delay the need to turn on the air conditioning and also protects your furniture, pets, and plants from the sun's rays, keeping your house cool.
*Maximum temperature compared to a house not equipped with sun protection. TBC study for the French Building Federation: Analysis of the energy contribution of roller shutters normative & regulatory study, 2010.
In the winter, the sun acts as a complementary heat source. Your shutters will automatically open to catch the heat and naturally warm up your home. And as the sun sets, they will close to retain the heat. This can help reduce your heating consumption by up to 30%**.

Somfy has always emphasised securing customer data, especially since the arrival of the Internet and connected objects. Our servers are highly secure and Somfy is committed to protecting our customers' data via a rigorous security and privacy policy.
To secure your home and deter burglars, equip it with an effective network of high-performance cameras. Before you do anything, here are some good questions to ask: 1. How many rooms require a security camera? A wide-angle camera in the living room is usually enough to cover all the sensitive openings. You can also consider installing cameras in your garage, driveway or study. 2. Do you want to protect your privacy? Our indoor cameras are equipped with a motorised privacy shutter that closes automatically when you're at home. 3. For an extra level of security, the Somfy One and Somfy Outdoor Camera are equipped with a siren that can be activated directly from the app.
1- DOWNLOAD THE QR-CODE
Go to the "Settings" menu, then select "Apple HomeKit" in your Somfy Protect application. Then press the product listed on this screen and the HomeKit association code will appear.
You can download the code and it will then be saved in your photo gallery. You can then print the HomeKit link code or display it on another screen in order to install your camera with HomeKit.

6- THE CAMERA IS NOW INSTALLED
Here are the features available when choosing your alarm system. Select those you need to create the alarm system that’s best for you. 1. Type of home. If you live in a house with a garden, think about equipping your system with an outdoor siren which has a flashing light. An effective solution for deterring intruders! 2. Backup battery. Opt for this solution! Your alarm will stay activated in the event of a power failure, loss of Internet connection or a sabotage attempt. 3. Pet and animal detection. If you have pets, consider getting a system designed to prevent false alarms. 4. Video surveillance. This generally includes a motion detector. When the camera is connected to the central control unit, it will detect intrusions and activate the siren.
Would you like to use a remote control to switch a bedside lamp on and off? Somfy recommends you to use a remote-controlled plug.
Would you like to control all your lights with a single remote control without replacing the existing switches? Somfy offers you a range of micro-receivers to switch your lights on and off with a single remote control without having to change your switches.
The receiver is installed behind a switch or in a drop ceiling. No need to worry! By installing a receiver behind an existing switch, it can still be used to turn your light on and off manually without using your smartphone or tablet. Given the complexity of working with electrical wiring, we recommend you call a professional to perform the installation.
Somfy transmitters and receivers work with the following light bulbs: - LEDs, 220-240V AC - Compact fluorescent lamps - Halogen or filament bulbs
The micro-receivers can be installed behind certain switches: - All push button switches (single or double). - All toggle switches (single or double).
If you installed your camera by connecting it to an outdoor light, you can configure the trigger mode for the light, the trigger threshold, and the duration the light will be on for.
You are stuck and the Outdoor Camera installation is incomplete because you are being told it is already installed.
1. My Outdoor Camera is already linked to my account, but at another location
You'll need to ensure that the outdoor camera is not already installed at another location. To do that, go to the home page for your account in the Somfy Protect app. Click on the arrow at the top of the page. This menu lets you access all the locations associated with your account.
For a better use, the SOC should be installed on the master device account. If the SOC is on a different one, please delete it and reinstall the camera on the right account.
2. I have multiple email addresses, and I am using the wrong one to access my alarm
I am not logged into the right account, so I am being directed to install my equipment.
Follow the instructions in this article: Why is my account empty when my alarm has already been installed?
3. Upon the 1st installation, I get this message
Your Somfy Outdoor Camera is new and you are installing it, but you get this message. Contact customer service.
If the camera fails to detect a presence by mistake, it is possible that its conditions of use are inappropriate for its detection capabilities. The camera's presence detector can identify the presence of an adult located at least 5 yards from the camera.
To maximise the detection, please dot not use your camera directly under the sun, and make sure the device is properly pointing at the area you wish to protect.
You can also ajust the sensitivity of each selected detection area. To do so, please follow the steps on
Menu > My devices > Your outdoor camera > Motion detection > Save modification
Activate the motion detection, set the detection sensitivity, then customize your detection zone
All you have to do is install a Sunis Wirefree II io sun sensor. No electric wires are needed for installation. It will control the lowering of your Venetian blinds, even if you are out.
The points to check before selecting a motorised system for your interior blinds: 1. Type of installation. The size of your windows and the weight of your interior blinds have an impact on the torque exerted by the motorised system you’ll select. For larger windows or heavier blinds, you’ll have to select a motorised system with greater torque. 2. Quiet motorised systems. To obtain the excellent acoustic performance offered by the Sonesse® range, we recommend that you: - Use the “Designed for Silence” accessories for the Sonesse® range or the ranges offered by our partners. - Select a smooth fabric. - Install the solution with care. 3. Available power supply. A power supply must be available near the motor. These Somfy products must be installed by a professional.
HomeKit only allows scenarios created in Home app (“scenes”).
Consequently: TaHoma® scenarios are not available in HomeKit (for TaHoma classic and TaHoma app). But you can create scenes in Home app which include Somfy equipment!
Created by Somfy, TaHoma® has access to numerous items of motorised equipment that you can connect, unlike other brands from telecommunications operators or new companies. Somfy already has an "equipment base" with tried and tested skills in home automation. Major home care brands have partnered with SOMFY to produce the "TaHoma® Compatible" label (lighting, heating, security, sound etc.); so when you choose SOMFY's TaHoma® solution you choose scalability and a high degree of compatibility.
TaHoma® app enables to link between home equipment and devices using HomeKit* technology. This link is a direct local connection between the device used to control (TaHoma, TaHoma switch,TaHoma DIN Rail V2 and Connectivity Kit) and the equipment it controls.
This connection requires specific development with embedded software (therefore local) in each box.
Note: the usual compatibilities developed for TaHoma® with other service partners worked for the most part via the Cloud.
When linked to a Connectivity kit, TaHoma app’s features are limited. The Connectivity kit does not allow programming. However, you can create them, under certain conditions, from your Voice Assistant’s app (with the use of an additional Voice Assistant).
Go to the "…" menu, then "Preferences and notifications" and "Preferred default menu".
Now you can choose which menu you want to land on when opening your TaHoma app:
In addition to the Somfy heating controllers, TaHoma® is compatible with the major heating brands: Atlantic, Sauter, Hitachi, De Dietrich, Thermor, Danfoss, Honeywell and CIAT.
- Electric radiators. The connected radiators of our partners Atlantic, Thermor, Honeywell (Evohome range) and Sauter come integrated with io-homecontrol technology. Add your radiators in the TaHoma® app to adjust the temperature of your home room by room. Then select the desired heating mode (Eco, Comfort), whether you're at home or away.
- Heat pumps. Connect your heat pump to TaHoma® to remotely programme your heating or monitor your energy use. Ciat and De Dietrich are equipped with HomeConnect radio control (Xenea and G-Kub models) and the Diematic ISystem (HP Inverter model). The io-homecontrol technology is already integrated into these systems. Hitachi heat pumps work with TaHoma® using a gateway.
Please check the Tahoma partners page to know which systems are compatible.
The points to check before selecting a motorised system: 1. Is there a power supply at the spot you wish to install the motor? 2. Does the gate work properly? Does it open and close without needing to be forced? 3. The leafs should be made of wood, PVC or metal. 4. What is the size and weight of the leafs? 5. How much space is available to install the motor (side room)?
